Winter's coming...

The boys are sending clear messages that the house is getting colder... They enjoyed their first fire in the fireplace last evening (Sept. 29th)

"Taste" Terrific

Doug and I had a great time this weekend in Picton where we sampled great Prince Edward County wines and taste treats at the "Taste" event held in the Crystal Palace shown below. We discovered a wonderful Cabernet Franc 2007 Reserve from the Black Prince Winery - delicious!!

Just back from Ireland

Just back from Ireland after two weeks of touring the country in a motorcoach. An excellent trip was had by all!

I spoke too soon when I said it was a perfect weekend ...

Late today we received word that our friend Judy passed away. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. She wrote a beautiful book which she shared with friends in which she described her battle with cancer referring to cancer as "the dragon". In her book she said "there's a dragon in the house" in 1990. Throughout the last 18 years she has fought the dragon referring at various times to the "dragon bucking" and "falling off the dragon". Judy challenged that dragon and gave it her best ride - I will miss her, her courageous spirit and her wonderful sense of humour. Her partner Ted stood by her till the end - they met later in life, shared some wonderful time together and I am so thankful to him for also sharing his beautiful partner with us. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
